Valerie Sue Muller, soprano, is an active performer in concert, opera, musical theater and music ministry. She has appeared on stage around the world, from Italy to Japan, and has performed in front of audiences across the country from New Jersey to California, and everywhere in between. On stage, she has performed leading and featured roles in such productions as The Mikado, Elixir of Love, Carmen, The Magic Flute, Cosi fan tutte, Die Fledermaus, Don Giovanni, The Crucible, Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Merry Widow, The Barber of Seville, Anything Goes, Dames at Sea, Over Here!, and Oklahoma. She has appeared with many companies, including The New Jersey State Opera, New York Grand Opera, Central Florida Lyric Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, The Rome Festival Opera Company, Opera In the Ozarks, and Jerome Hines’ Opera Music Theatre International. She has also been a member of the New Jersey State Opera Outreach Program and Children’s Opera Theatre of Opera Northeast, performing opera for children along the East Coast. She has been a featured soloist with the Musical Revue Troupe, In Love with Broadway, and as an active member of New Jersey Alliance of Performing Artists, has appeared in various concerts throughout the state. Other notable concert credits include: the special Concert of Dedication at the Misawa A.F.B. in Misawa, Japan; the encore Misawa performance entitled “God and Country”; the Hausmusik Series for the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in Cheyenne, WY; National Anthem guest artist at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo --- “The Daddy of them All!”; St. Peter By the Sea Orchestra Christmas concerts; and the NY Century Club Elixer of Love excerpts performance, with the late George Plimpton acting as narrator.
Ms. Muller has recently focused her musical talents and passion on the Church and is very active singing throughout the Archdiocese of Newark. She has performed benefit concerts for the Office of Vocations, is the Cantor and Music Director for the Women’s Commission Annual Day of Reflection, and leads the beautiful Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for various Archdiocesan Events. Valerie was also honored by an invitation to sing during the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to New York in 2008.
Valerie has released three CD recordings – “Spirit of the Season”, a Christmas album, “Stages” which features songs from the stage, screen and concert hall, and “Lights”, a collection of spiritual and inspirational music. Ms. Muller currently serves as Director of Music and cantor at The Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes, NJ. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice and Opera Performance.
